Everybody’s Cool at first . . .
This is something I’ve been saying, and using to describe situations for many years. The theory is based on another theory: Most people pretend too much when they meet someone for the first time. A sure giveaway, the person in the room talking about how [real] they are. I’ve always respected the exact opposite so much more, like the individual who does their very best to scare everyone off right away! And it’s so much fun to watch! Hmmmm . . . I guess Vampires would absolutely qualify here. Joseph Shanklin March 3, 2020

I’m usually the “shy, quiet one” in the room, watching, observing…but people tend to gravitate to me, for what ever reason

You write about (could say) opposites. There are a lot of shades in between. I’ve always disliked when somebody says for someone – he/she is cool. Cool is from cold (cold in emotions, reactions), and to be cool, from my point of view, is not a compliment. It’s just that some people adjust for what is expected from them. Not to be different from the others.

I’ve never tried to be cool. But it seems like many people try to be what they consider to be cool.
Yes, I do like to write about opposites 🙂
