A few weeks ago, I posted a Novel Update of 155K Words. I did a count yesterday and discovered my current total to be 177K Words. I’m nearly finished with the final chapter [#15], but that chapter is running long. At a glance, it might seem that I’m struggling to wrap things up, but that’s not the case. Even though Chapter 15 is already 25K Words in length, and will probably total 28K by the time it’s complete, I’m happy with it.

My final chapter is high action from beginning to end, and I’m dedicated to giving the reader their money’s worth. Furthermore, the Epilogue/Afterword will prep the reader for the next book, something I’ve already begun working on.

One year into this novel, and I’ve come to understand every movie I’ve ever watched about [The Writer], and his/her challenges. My relationship with writing continues to build and strengthen, and I still wouldn’t have it any other way!

In love with writing,

Joseph Shanklin
