I’ve always wondered why some individuals have [Selective Memory]. I’m not speaking of [lying through their teeth], but instead those persons who seem to believe their bullshit. Not having done the research, I can only speculate.
Do these people have issues with reality?
Do they have long or short-term memory problems?
Is it some kind of twisted game?
Are they more f*****d up than everyone else?
Or possibly, the situation is far from complicated, and these individuals are simply [liars].
For those of us who live a grounded life, rooted in reality, we may never fully understand the mind of those with Selective Memory Disorder.

Selective memory and selective hearing. Your post made me think of something my mother used to say:”There are none so deaf as those who won’t hear.”

I’ve began doing some research on the condition. Apparently, there are several possible explanations as to why someone may have this condition. Most of them are not connected to narcissism.

I’ll probably write something in detail after I learn more. I wrote this piece as a way to vent my frustrations over a current situation. ☹️

It’s like my sister…she only remembers the “bad things” I did to her, and not the good or funny things.

That must be frustrating.

it is, but I let it go for the most part. I haven’t talked to her in over three years

Hopefully, you will speak with her soon. We cannot get our time back. 🙏

I doubt it. But it doesn’t hurt to be hopeful
