Before I accepted my current employment, I’d been working in the field of Traffic Control for some time. Throughout the last two months with that organization, we’d been working overnight for two months. At the beginning of each shift, we had been expected to stretch for 15-20 minutes as part of our safety meeting.

Now, five months later, I’m working as a Tow Truck Operator. For the past several weeks, I’ve been suffering from muscle cramps, especially while sleeping. A lack of stretching combined with a lack of bicycling due to Winter weather has thrown my body into chaos.

Apparently, I missed the stretching sign. For the first time in my life, I had been required to stretch before work. If I had continued to do so beyond those two months, and after I began my current job, things would have been different. Instead, I didn’t do the [1+1] math until last week. Even after years of working to recognize the obvious, I’m still missing the writing on the wall from time to time.

Some might say, “whatever, that’s not a sign!”

Well, in my life, it’s absolutely a sign!
