Denver’s Crime Wave
Back when I was transporting stolen vehicles to the Denver Impound Facility, I had an opportunity to learn a few things about Denver’s on-going problem with auto theft. It seems the car thieves are being released from jail as fast as they are arrested. Entire crime rings are being sent back to the streets. Why? Some people say because of the virus.
Denver’s crime spiked heavily in 2020. Looting and rioting were major contributors. Or, as some call it, peaceful protesting. I was working downtown during the Spring and Summer of 2020. What I witnessed wasn’t peaceful.
2020 vs. 2019
Motor Vehicle Theft +38.6%
Violent Crime +6.5%
Property Crime +10.4%

And I guess the way they’re going to deal with it is to defund the police…

I certainly hope not. We cannot allow that to happen. 🙂
