For those who have been reading this blog, you may know that I’ve been driving a tow truck and working as a First Responder for the past couple of years. Truck Before I moved to Texas from Denver in December, I spent my days patrolling the Interstate Highway and working alongside the Fire Department and State Patrol. I loved that job! Blue Lives Matter!

I accepted a forklift position until I took my CDL Driving Test. It’s not that I failed the test; I simply haven’t taken it yet. A large percentage of drivers fail the Pre-trip portion of the test, and I’m practicing as much as time allows.

Until I accepted my forklift position, I spent two hours each day roundtrip for work. That’s a lot of gas in this horrific biden economy. Now, it takes me 10 minutes to get to work. I do have to get up at 3 AM, but the overtime is basically unlimited! Yes, un . . . flipping . . . limited overtime!

Even though I’m forklift certified already, my job still invests a week of training/certification into all of their forklift operators. The test was difficult, and only 3 of 11 of us passed the final driving course.

So, after a drug test, background check, written forklift test, interview, hands-on interview, day of safety training, safety test, another forklift written test, four days of forklift training, and a somewhat difficult operation test including forwards and backward; I was able to begin working as a Forklift Operator.
